Township Records
Original township documents were loaned to the society by Ingham County townships, cities and villages and placed onto archival quality microfilm. The total project involved microfilming over 245,000 pages of documents that are now available for viewing at the Library of Michigan and the ICGS Resource Room on the 2nd Floor of the CADL-Mason library. Unfortunately, the ICGS Resource Room has a microfilm reader only. If copies are needed researchers should use the Library of Michigan.
Information on the microfilm varies slightly from township to township, but generally includes chattel mortgage information, Clerks account book records, Treasurer's account book records, assessment tax rolls, vital records, burial transit permits, cemetery deeds sexton notes, minutes books, and one or more atlas maps of the township.
