The database was set up to provide a chronology of an ancestors's life. As an example I might be researching my KLINK line and would like to more information on Charles M. Klink. I know he was born in Newville, Mifflin Township PA in 1822; He went to school in Gettsyburg, Adams PA between 1841 and 1843 and in Cincinnati, Hamilton OH between 1844 and 1845. I also know he preached in Middletown, Fredericksburg, MD between 1857 and 1861 before moving to Bellvue, Township OH in 1861 where he died in 1863. My entries for Charles M. Klink would look like the what you see to the left. It is also possible to add last name, first name, middle or maiden name in the surname field.
USING THE SURNAME LIST:
Anyone visiting the Surname Research page
can sort by surname using the small box at the top of the page. The sort will sort by the "Surname" field first and "Begin Year" second so you can see the chronology of Charles M. Klink from birth to death (given what information I provided). (The first page that lists all surnames may not be in chronological order.) Click on the eye icon in the left hand column to see what additional information was submitted or click on the envelope icon to send an email to the submitter.
You do not have to be a member to use the surname List
